Psychology students mentor the next generation of students

Over the past five months Psychology students have been gaining valuable work experience by mentoring younger students in both Cirencester Deer Park and Kingshill Schools.

The student mentors have been making their own resources by using theories and techniques they have learnt in their psychology lessons.  They have completed one to one sessions too, with amongst other things sharing what a day in the life of the college is like.

The whole exercise has given the student mentors the ability to help guide and set targets with the younger students to ensure they reach their full potential in their upcoming exams. It has also given the mentors practise using important skills that they will need when going into psychology related careers in the future eg keeping confidentiality, communication skills, problem solving and much more.
