Health and Social Care students visit Thorpe Park

A group of Health and Social  Care students recently went on a trip to Thorpe Park,  Not only was this a great way towards the end of a year of hard work, it also linked with their units on Health and Safety and Communication.

Two students explained how the day went for them:

“I felt the day was fantastic. It was such a lovely way to round of the stressful year.  We all loved the day and it brought us together as a team. Also it was really good as it allows us to relate to HSC health and safety and what could go wrong if an issue was to occur. We can apply this to not only children but adults as well as vulnerable people. It made me more aware of communication is a vital part on the trip to understand meeting points and time keeping. It has made me more aware of how important communication is.” George Harris

“We all had a lovely day and it has made us come even closer as a group. It really linked with unit 3 health and safety as we analysed each ride and how safe we believed they actually were. As well as this it linked to unit 1 communication and allowed us to organise our own day as a team, improving our skills. All in all it was a fantastic day and would defiantly recommend it for another class to go.”  Leanne Henderson
