Highworth U15 Girls Football team enjoy a training session at Cirencester Sixth Form College

Cirencester College were delighted to host a training session for local girls football team Highworth under 15s in the College’s Sports Hall.

The training, consisting of a variety of drills and exercises, was led by current and former Sport students Leya Jones, Cally Lewis and Sophie Stevens alongside Sport Lecturer Nick Peare. Cirencester College has recently started sponsoring Highworth under 15s as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting sport in the local community.

Fifteen Highworth players participated and their coach Steve Curtis commented “Cirencester College has an amazing reputation in our region and for the College to sponsor us is big feather in our cap. In short, we now have a sponsor to match our team’s ambition and that is important when we are moving the team forward, not only in keeping our best players, but attracting new ones as well. The training was particularly useful because it’s always good to get a new slant on things.”

Nick Peare who coaches football at the college emphasised the importance of supporting local sport and the College’s commitment to this. “It was great to have Highworth over to the college. We are always looking to try and support local teams through providing a pathway for both Girls and Boys to continue developing and enjoying their football. The girls showed good potential and we hope to see them representing Cirencester College in the coming years.”
