A-level Biology students visit Warwick University

Recently 24 A-level Biology students visited Warwick University for their annual Biology in Action Day.

The talks covered a wide range of topics and really made the students think around the topic. They included talks on the immune system and current research on how to keep it healthy as we age, the genetics of superheroes, looking at real mutants and whether one day we could use genetics to make us superhuman.

There was a particularly inspiring talk from a speaker who had suffered a brain injury who talked the students through his recovery and how his brain was adapting to everyday challenges.  The day culminated in a live pig dissection on stage!

All the students had a great time and gained a real insight into studying Biology at university.  If you would like to find out more about Biology at Cirencester College please visit Open Evening on Thursday 18 January between 5pm to 8pm.
