Animal Management students visited by the Guide Dogs Association

Animal Management Level 3 students were excited to welcome Alex Beadle and Zack from the Guide Dogs Association recently.

Alex and the wonderful Zack came along to speak to our students about the training of a guide dog and the life giving help that they give to non sighted and partially sighted people.  Zack himself has a sight problem so was unable to complete the entire training programme, so instead Zack has a really important role of spreading the message of the Guide Dogs Association.

Kim Monahan, Course Leader for Animal Management said, “We are very thankful for all the volunteers that give up their time to come and talk to our students about their jobs and specialisms and we will be most certainly welcoming Alex back again. At the end of the talk students were thrilled to be able to try out some of the guide dogs special glasses that show sighted people the different levels of sight that Guide dogs can help with and to give Zack a much deserved pat.”
