Uniformed Public Services students host inaugural Disability Roadshow for local primary schools

Congratulations to Cirencester College’s Year 1 Level 2 Uniformed Public Services who hosted the first Disability Roadshow for the College and local primary schools.

The students were joined by over 60 excited Key Stage 2 pupils from Fairford, Kemble, Siddington, St Lawrence and Stratton Primary schools took part in the following activities: Boccia, Goalball, New Age Kurling, Table Cricket and Wheelchair Basketball.

Jess Huddleston, Sport Engagement Project Officer said, “Thanks to our Sport England funding, this was a fantastic opportunity for both the College students and and our visiting pupils to take part in and learn an array of disability sports. From this the students’ have gained a variety of employability skills and a qualification from setting up and holding this event.”

Staff members from the primary schools expressed how impressed they were with the delivery and enthusiasm of the students which was emulated by their pupils. One enthusiastic staff member asked whether the students would like us to come to their school and deliver the event again!
