Amy Kent – Business Administration Apprentice with Portus & Whitton

17 year old Amy Kent joined Portus and Whitton in January this year. Amy said, “I looked for an apprenticeship as I felt it was a good opportunity to get an insight into the world of work.  An apprenticeship opens your eyes and allows you to develop many more skills not just the business administration but also communication skills, working to deadlines, organising myself to meet deadlines and working with lots of different software on the computer.  These skills are giving me a solid understanding of how a business runs.  I really enjoy learning something new every day and working with people who are passionate about their job.  My recommendation to anyone thinking of going for an apprenticeship is to apply to as many positions as possible and don’t close yourself off to any opportunities that come your way.”
